PALMETTO BAY, Florida. – Detectives identified the two victims of a fatal accident related to an attempted traffic control by an officer on Thursday in Miami-Dade County.
Tyrese Grace was driving the white Lexus Sports Utility Vehicle that was the subject of the failed traffic control on US 1 at Southwest 172nd Street, police said. He was 23.
Amy Whitelock was in the gray Chevy Trailblazer the Lexus driver hit on US 1 on Southwest 152nd Street, police said. She was 45.
Detective Alvaro Zabaleta, a Miami-Dade police spokesman, said three other men were injured in the Lexus.
Zabaleta said officers lost sight of the Lexus and were traveling north while responding to the US 1 crash.
