Miami Dolphins 2021 Training Camp Preview Central Defense Line

Miami Dolphins 2021 Training Camp Preview Central Defense Line

In keeping with the theme of the previous position previews, the Dolphins’ defensive linemen are equipped with versatility. The majority of the players listed below have played marginal reps in addition to their internal work. This flexibility helps prevent criminal offenses from being guessed. The secret of which rushers are coming and who’s slowing down in reporting remains just that for the opposition.

Christian Wilkins was the Chris Grier / Brian Flores regime’s first draft pick in 2019 and has helped establish the culture by hitting 103 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, one interception, 3.5 in his two seasons Sacks and seven passes defended. Raekwon Davis, a 2020 rookie, posted 40 tackles in his first season, while Zach Sieler posted 48 tackles, 11 for loss, and 3.5 sacks last year. Sophomore Benito Jones played six games as a rookie in 2020.

The Dolphins have also added new faces to the group. Adam Butler is from New England, where he has played the entire defensive line and counted 15 sacks in four seasons. John Jenkins returns to his former turf where he scored 39 tackles as a member of the Dolphins in 2019. Jerome Johnson, an undrafted free agent in 2021, is heading to his first camp as a pro.
