House fire in Dahlonega while the resident was at home, investigators say

Authorities are looking for an arsonist who set fire to a house in Dahlonega on October 28 while the resident was inside, according to authorities.

The fire occurred at 5:48 a.m. in a 1,900-square-foot home on Chestatee Springs Road near the Hall / Lumpkin border.

Insurance and Security Fire Commissioner John King said in a press release that the resident immediately called the authorities for help.

No casualties were reported and authorities said the house suffered minimal damage.

“Investigators found that the fire broke out on an outside wall of the building and was deliberately started,” King said in a press release.

The Insurance and Security Fire Department supports the fire department and sheriff’s office in Lumpkin County.

A reward of up to $ 10,000 is available for clues leading to arrest and conviction.
