Week 11 Florida High School Football Rankings in Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Naples

Each week, The and Naples Daily News ranked the top 10 high school football teams in their coverage area (Collier and Lee counties and LaBelle). The power rankings were based on record, schedule strength and head-to-head matches for the 34 teams in the region.

This is the last week of the regular season, so these will be the final power rankings of 2021. The FHSAA playoff brackets will be released on Sunday, November 7th.

1. Naples (9-0)

Last week: number 1

The Golden Eagles ended their regular season with an expected 62-0 win over East Lee. Now Naples will have to wait and see if their resume is good enough to earn the No. 1 Seed in Class 6A Region 4.

2. Dunbar (8-0)

Last week: No. 2

The Tigers are at the top of the 6A region 4 ahead of Naples. But Dunbar has a tough regular season finale when it plays at Lehigh.

3. Lehigh (6-1)

Last week: No. 3

The Lightning missed a chance to improve their RPI rating when this week’s game against Pahokee (6-1) was canceled due to bad weather. However, Lehigh faces Dunbar to end the season and a win over the undefeated Tigers would help the Lightning’s RPI.

4. South Fort Myers (7-2)

Last week: Number 4

The Wolfpack looked like themselves again a week after losing to Napoli. South Fort Myers had no issues with Golden Gate, winning 42-14 to stay fourth on the poll.

5. Episcopal taxes (5-3)

Last week: No. 5

The Vikings were free last week. They face a huge test on Friday when they play at Clearwater Central Catholic. Bishop Verot and CCC rank second and third in the Class 3A Region 3 RPI, and the winner is likely to receive a first-round playoff bye.

6. First Baptist (8-1)

Last week: No. 7

The Lions climb another place in the rankings thanks to a 57-28 win against Community School and a loss at Fort Myers, previously ranked 6th after a three-week break before the postseason.

7. Estero (7-3)

Last week: No. 8

The Wildcats can’t stop winning. Thanks to five victories in a row, Estero got the highest ranking of the season. Now the ‘Cats have a goodbye week before a home game in the first round.

8. Fort Myers (5-3)

Last week: No. 6

The Green Wave had broken their winning streak of three games with a 32:27 loss to North Fort Myers. Fort Myers loses two places in the ranking thanks to the loss. The wave is in danger of missing a major playoff spot. You may have to beat Sebring (6-3) on Friday to get in.

9. North Fort Myers (5-4)

Last week: Unrated

The Red Knights are above 0.500 for the first time in the entire season thanks to consecutive wins. North won three out of four games not only to get into the top 10 on our power rankings, but also to get his name into the overall playoff conversation.
